Threading
A fast and effective way to remove unwanted facial hairs
Threading is a very specialized ancient technique of hair removal used on both men and women.
Orginating from India this popular removing technique uses a very fine antibacterial piece of thread. Your therapist will twist unwanted hairs out from the roots allowing a slower regrowth rate and no redness or irritation to the skins surface.
Threading suits everyone, even those with sensitive skin types. It´s ideal for people who can´t tolerate waxing. It´s also recommended for people who are on medications for problematic skin types such as roaccutane and topical steroids.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a traditional technique to destroy hair follicles within the skin using a current – Short wave diathermy.
Unwanted hair can be distressing for many people. 80% of both men and women suffer with problems when it comes to thick stubborn hairs. Many factors can cause unwanted hair such as puberty, pregnancy, hormonal imbalances, illness and genetics.
FAQs
How does Electrolysis work?
A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle alongside the hair. Once the probe is correctly in position a mild current is applied for around 2 seconds creating heat in the area. The heat destroys the living cells and cuts off the current blood supply to the root of the dermal papillar. This allows the hair to be taken out of the hair shaft. Thinning the hair each time the root is destroyed.
How often will I need this treatment?
Treatment on each area depends on many different factors of each individual person. Although the recommended time frame between each session is 7-14 days. Stronger hairs may require more treatments than finer hairs. Although electrolysis is classed as a permanent removal of hair the result is achieved over a period of time.
Does it hurt?
While the current is being applied you can feel a sensation or warmth to the area. The level of which the heat is turned up to depends on the nerve response of each person. The current must be turned up high enough to achieve maximum results.
